"Walk in the light, as he is in the light."
1 John 1:7 ESV
Last summer, over 100 children and almost as many volunteers praised God together at "Camp Calvary" as we learned about the Holy Spirit and how He helps us in all areas of life, both big and small.
Camp Calvary returns this June with an inspiring new theme and buckets of fun. Stay tuned!

FAQs
How much is the registration fee?
Zero! Zip! Nada! Calvary VBS is always free for both children and volunteers. We even throw in a T-shirt!
What ages may attend VBS?
At the youngest, we welcome children who are at least 3 years old during VBS week. We love to be inclusive of these little ones, as many of them are ready to grasp faith concepts and participate in group activities. Some are not ready, and that's okay, too! Parents know best what their children can handle.
At the oldest, kids up to 12 may participate as "campers." We encourage anyone entering 6th grade or higher (approx. 11 or 12 years) to be junior volunteers.

What is a junior volunteer?
Kids entering 6th–12th grades (11–17 years) can be junior volunteers at VBS. We have dozens of them every year, and they are vital to our program! They do just about everything the adults do:
- Help lead children's groups
- Assist with crafts and games
- Act in the nightly skits
- Help with music and actions
- Build sets and decorations
- Setup and cleaning
- Take pictures/videos
Do you accept walk-ins?
Of course. We don't turn anyone away who wants to learn about Jesus! Having said that, if you know ahead of time that your child might attend VBS—even just one evening—we prefer that you register them. It is easier for us to have attenders not show up than to add them at the last minute.
Is it okay if my child misses an evening?
Sure! We're flexible. Please let us know ahead of time if your child will be absent—it can help us keep our group numbers even.
My child has an early bedtime. May I pick up him/her before the end of the evening?
We recognize that 8:30 can be a late night for kids. If you have reservations about the time, it may be best to wait until your child is a little older to attend VBS. It can be disruptive for other children and a lot of extra work for our leaders to remove a child in the middle of the program.
If your child does become upset and cannot be calmed within a reasonable amount of time, we will call you to pick them up or accompany them through the remainder of the evening.

May I request that my child be placed in a group with a sibling or friend?
Yes! We want kids to be comfortable so they can enjoy all our activities to the fullest. There is a place on our registration form to indicate one friend request per child.
PLEASE NOTE: Groups are arranged by age, so it is best if the requested friend is a similar age to your child.

My child has food allergies. Is that a problem?
Food allergies have never been a problem for our VBS team in the past. There is a place on the registration form to indicate any allergies or medical conditions, and we note this on your child's name tag so that leaders are aware. We do our best to have snacks available that are gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free; parents may send a snack from home if preferred. If your child has severe or rare allergies, we prefer that you provide their snacks for the week.
What are your toileting policies/arrangements?
We understand that toilet training is a process unique to each child and do not want it to hinder their spiritual growth. However, due to a number of factors (helper availability, schedule, safety, etc.), we strongly prefer that children be fully potty-trained to attend VBS. This includes being able to remove and put on clothing, get on and off the toilet (step stools available), and clean themselves without assistance. Our leaders will not be responsible for pull-up or diaper changes.
Restroom breaks are built into our schedule every evening, and we do require that a leader supervise children (outside the door) on restroom visits. Because this policy takes a leader away from the group, it is best if children can "hold it" between scheduled restroom breaks so everyone receives adequate supervision.
If your child has an accident during VBS, or requires a pull-up/diaper change, we will call you to take care of it. You are welcome to send along a change of clothes if desired.

What are your child safety policies?
Your child's safety—physical, mental, spiritual, and every other way—is our top priority!
- All our adult leaders (18+) must pass a background check in order to volunteer.
- All leaders must sign a statement of faith.
- Children must be checked out each evening by an adult listed on their registration.
- We do our very best to have two or more leaders with children for accountability purposes; adults may never be alone with a child in a nonpublic space.
Is there a parent program during VBS?
Yes, and you won't want to miss it! Join us the final night (Thursday) at 8:00 in the auditorium to see the end of the drama, watch a slideshow from our amazing week, and get an energy infusion from a room full of people absolutely wild for Jesus!
Do you offer nursery care?
You're welcome to stay and use the nursery with your little ones. There will not be care available.
